The chart below will help navigate you through the finish options you have based on the material make-up of your putter. Unfortunately not every finish can be applied to every putter. Carbon Steel is magnetic so if you are not sure what your putter make-up is see if a magnet will stick to it to determine if it is Carbon Steel. Brass, Copper and Bronze are usually easy to determine by their color and Stainless Steel is not magnetic so if your putter does not stick to the magnet and has a silver color it is probably stainless steel. There are very few putters made of 100% Aluminum but there are a lot of putters that have removable soleplates made from Aluminum.
