The Oil Slick finish can be applied only to Carbon Steel. This finish is accomplished through Heat Tempering. Heat Tempering involves heating the metal to a particular temperature to achieve a particular color. Once the color is achieved the putter is then placed into a “dry to the touch” oil bath. The oil bath seals in the beautiful finish and enables a protective coating from corrosion and rust. To maintain this beautiful finish this putter needs to be kept dry and well oiled to prevent any future rust or corrosion. All dings, dents and scratches are removed and this finish is can be performed in a matte, satin, brushed or polished finish.
